    Las Vegas nicknames

Every city has a moniker. Reno has "Biggest little city in the world", NYC has "The Big Apple". Chicago has "Windy City"...etc.

Las Vegas is commonly called Sin City, which is cool...but old. Its no secret i have lost that lovin' feeling for my city, i want out of here, but while i must stay for the next few years, i want to have fun at its expense. I know none of you like this shithole either, so lets make a new moniker for it. Make as many as you like...and feel free to name your own town if you want to criticize it without seeming too negative.

NYC is the city that never sleeps, i think Las Vegas should be the "City that passes out", or the "City of empty condos"...whatever works. Enjoy.

I'd heard that Las Vegas was known as, "Lost Wages." :stirpot:

    Vague-Ass

I used to drive through there every April and Oct. It's one of the best cities in the US for really good, mom & pop, cheap Mexican food.
Was hanging with a woman 10 years ago who had friends there. We spent a day and stayed overnight with them. Everything was Sam's Town. Nice place, but if you even mentioned another place you were under threat of death.

    "Newark of the Desert"

    "Far East LA"
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

This isn't really a nickname but a motto:

"Las Vegas: Where hope is the normal form of delirium."

Mottos are good too...we can actually come up with a lot of those. And Sams Town is a real "locals" shitpot, bad side of town....more like, very desperate side of town.
