It's not a matter of "having the cajones" its more a matter of common sense. Absolute alcohol is a bit too strong to apply to the tissues of the mouth, throat, and digestive tract. It can be extremely irritating. It is also very strong, remember it is close to 2.5 times the strength of the "hard liquor" that most people are used to. Thus a single shot of everclear is like having 2.5 shots of regular 80 proof liquor, something to keep in mind if you are drinking Everclear straight or using it to make mixed drinks. I would advise mixing it with water or something. Drinking straight azeotropic 95% grain alcohol straight is not advisable.Originally Posted by W1GUH
