    VK3ZL 160m amp wins SERG 2010 HB Competition!

    Bob's 160 meter amplifier project won the 2010 South East Radio Group's Homebrew competition! Congratulations, Bob!

    The winner of the homebrew competition was Bob VK3ZL's 160m amp. An exemplary demonstration of how to work with high voltages and high power.
    We should all make the effort to work Bob on 160 meters to put some Islanders in his logbook!

    What I like is the interest in available reasonably priced tubes in those designs. The man is the Chip Foose of amplifier builds. Like, wow.

    I promise to do my best to get back on 160 this winter... the signals may be weak at times, but they sure can go a loooooong way. :)
    May be one one the best bands for saying HEY to overseas Islanders. Especially when we have so few sun freckles. Topband is weird.
