Don't look now but this stuff is REAL! Remember the skin effect? RF flows on and is radiated from the surface of a conductor, we all know that copper tubing and flat ribbon is used to make inductors and Copperweld plated steel antenna wire has been around for years. So why do you laugh at those who coat their antennas with conductive grease to increase surface conductivity and raise radiation efficiency? Hey guys if you're cheap there is always carbon and molybdenum (common moly grease) but then if you can afford cruising in the fast lane there are silver and gold antenna grease for the world class champion DXer. And you thought that phased array atop the tower was the antenna??? Uh uh, that's just for show, a cheap mock-up that only LOOKS like an antenna, the secret is in the greased dipole hidden in the bushes behind the garden.
