Good info here, i have a dead 520 in the other room and just didnt know where to begin as i own no bench equipment. But ill give it a go because a rig is a rig. It powers up but when it does, it also keys up and i have to shut it down...i looked at all the things i could figure to stop it, but no go. It just made me determined to get it running, it would be a good backup rig. Or at least a good third-in-line behind the 757 once i get the K3. I may even get some bench test equipment once my wife and i move into the new house!

One thing at a time, i first have to figure out my musical equipment issues, thats the stuff i make money to buy radios with...its more important right now and the Mojave summer heat, mixed with my outdoor weekly gig, is just killing my stuff one by one. First the 15" cabinet blew out on stage, then the front S1 pot on my Fender bass gave out...now the Ampeg head PS is fried...fortunately, now i run a direct box these days. For the musicians in the crowd, you know how bad it is when you lose signal in the middle of a song in front of hundreds of folks trying to get laid. No bueno!

I hope to get all of it back up and running soon...the radio gear, i mean. I need to fix it with some duct tape and an old screwdriver by candle light in order to live up to this mystical, magical, wizard-of-all-i-survey extra ticket i have here (or so im told by the curmudgeony OF's). :-)
