Stock Washington turned down to 2.75 watts on the meter. Paired with an Antron 99 it worked perfect and all the amp guys couldn't believe I wasn't even peaked n tweaked.
Its like the amp guys who don't believe all I had was a shit-box Maxon CB in my van with a 102" whip... They swore up and down I had to have a "footwarmer" in there, there's no way I could be swinging like I was without one.
I tried to explain the difference an amp makes vs. a good antenna. They basically told me I had no idea what I was talking about. I gave up after about 30 seconds of trying to explain.
I used to run an HR2510 in conjunction with a quarter-wave, bumper-mount whip. 10M DXCC+ was easily accomplished while driving to and from work.
