Ham radio equipment donations?

I have a few pieces of gear that aren't worth the hassle of selling.. but I have no use for. A couple of 2 meter rigs, some meters, some other odds and ends.

I know there were some threads on 'Zed awhile back with some slackers looking for hand outs, but are there any legitimate groups who place gear with the truly down and out? Or disabled?

Yeah, I could sell it, and I might, but I don't want to sell a 2 meter mobile for $50 and then get a PayPal dispute because the volume knob is flaky. I'd rather just find it a good home.

Maybe set up a station at a school? I know that's how I got my start in ham radio. One elmer, and 3 students who were hams.

Maybe find a ham who is also a teacher and find out if they might be able to find a home for them?

The Boulder Amateur Radio Club, Jr. is a 503C(3) organization run by a lot of kids and a few elmers (helpers) to train kids in the technology of communicating by radio. Part of this activity is progress toward a Federal Communications Commission authorized Amateur Radio License.
