    Ham radio equipment donations?

I have a few pieces of gear that aren't worth the hassle of selling.. but I have no use for. A couple of 2 meter rigs, some meters, some other odds and ends.

I know there were some threads on 'Zed awhile back with some slackers looking for hand outs, but are there any legitimate groups who place gear with the truly down and out? Or disabled?

Yeah, I could sell it, and I might, but I don't want to sell a 2 meter mobile for $50 and then get a PayPal dispute because the volume knob is flaky. I'd rather just find it a good home.

Check out WB2JKJ - the "crew at 22". They accept donations and you earn tax deductions in the process.

If we are thinking of the same guy. He helps kids and the disabled with the money from the sales.

Maybe set up a station at a school? I know that's how I got my start in ham radio. One elmer, and 3 students who were hams.

Maybe find a ham who is also a teacher and find out if they might be able to find a home for them?
