    Bug

I did a bit of research Fred. The bug that I have is a Lionel J-36 made for the military WW-2. It is a copy of the Vibraplex #6 lightning Bug. Note the rivets on the left side that held the missing ID tag.

Interesting. That fact probably makes it more valuable than the Vibro version.

    I guess we'll soon know: http://cgi.ebay.com/Lionel-J-36-Lightni ... 44012r6515

Looks like the second seller of the Lionel J-36 isn't drawing much interest at his high starting bid.

And that one has the ID tag on it. I'll watch it, should be interesting.

I dunno George, I never got into the old keys, but I'm guessing that the ID plate being missing on yours is a real value killer?

I walked around the Dayton Hamvention looking at the wares of the guys selling old keys several times, some of the prices were  .

You got that right. We were flatly amazed.

On the other hand - I picked up a Vibroplex Iambic in like-new shape at a 'fest last November for $60...

Well George, both auctions ended and there's quite a spread on the prices? :think

In any case, it's worth a lot more then I paid for it.
