    Yeh, noticed this a couple of days ago. The US is lagging severely in Internet speed. Big vacuum = Big Bucks. Since nobody else wants to take the plunge, Google did. If it works, expect a whole lot of other companies to join in and try the same.

    I've already submitted my neighborhood to be considered for the Trial, seeing as Verizon is dragging their feet for FiOS.

    comcast (now xfinity?!?) advertised (during the olympics) "100 megabytes coming soon!" it's not FiOS (which isn't coming here anytime soon), but it's 2x their best rate now and almost 17x the capacity of the best at&t dsl service.
