Free Commercial Software Giveaway
Every day these people give away a free copy of a commercial software product. The only catch is that you have to download and activate it the SAME day that it is being offered. The software that is offered changes every day. To download you go here...

Re: Free Commercial Software Giveaway
Check this out for applications (Windows) that run from the USB drive, free and no registry entries, and to run on any Windows 2000/XP computers from the thumb drive.
It is linked from the Island Website as "Portable apps".

John, by the way, thanks for the link. I have been following it.
On the Hamisland website, under software, I added another interesting link: softpedia.com

Re: Free Commercial Software Giveaway
I could kick myself for missing the May 20th give away!
I need animation software badly!
Unless someone here has tips on getting started with Image Ready. I've spent some time with it and can't figure it out. PhotoShop on the other hand was a no brainer for me.

Not bad Charles. I have been using Audacity for a few years now (even to record ham QSOs and other stuff on the bands), but the others seem interesting.
Re: Free Commercial Software Giveaway
Thanks. I don't know which one would be best for my needs but I like to edit music and and audio out takes from television and movies to make my own ringtones. I also enjoy mixing bits to fit in for background and lead in music for video shorts and slide shows.
Re: Free Commercial Software Giveaway
It's complicated and it blows up sometimes, but I keep playing with Blender.

I wish I did not have preconceived notions of how to do things in the software. I spent too much time using AutoDesk's 3D Studio, and played a lot with Bryce.

It's good stuff Charles, and it's free under the GNU license. Check it out, maybe we could learn this together, I really miss doing 3D work.
Ever play with Poser? Razor Video Editing software?

Negative.
Tell me more. :)
Re: Free Commercial Software Giveaway
I have the old MetaCreations Version 4 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poser

Poser is a 3D rendering and animation software program optimized for models that depict the human figure in three-dimensional form, mostly used to pose and animate the figures in a similar way as a mannequin. The program has become very popular due to it's ease of use, which allows beginners to produce basic animations and digital comics.
Speed Razor is gone, I think. :( http://www.digitalvideoediting.com/2...zzletter19.htm
Real Time Video editing in the 90's; way ahead of it's time. It was pretty cool.
