I did not know that boogers have salt. I flush my nasal passages out with saline solution with a neti pot. I was unaware I might have been flushing a vital nutrient, or two.
May I assume then, that you cannot taste salt? LOL!
in the words of cleveland...
oh thats nasty
No one's had a cold?
yep, Ive tasted the fluid in a backwash situation. I have tasted other fluids as well.
Our body has been built to consume snot, because the nasal mucus is normally swallowed after being moved inside by the motion of the cilia. Your nose and sinuses make about a quart (about 1 liter) of snot every day. The mucus contains a cocktail of antiseptic enzymes that kill or weaken many of the bacteria that become entangled in it, so reintroducing the crippled microorganisms may afford the immune system an opportunity to produce antibodies in relative safety. A study performed by Sidney Tarachow of the State University of New York which reported that people who ate their boogers found them tasty.
My dog was the disposal unit for those. It was her specialty.
No boogers for me. High blood pressure problems.

Usually this behavior does not last much past 7 years old...
HOWEVER....
There is the notorious Snot Vampire. He (or she) will sneak up on you--often in your sleep--and suck your nose dry. Thwart this scourge by placing a heavy plastic bag over your head prior to falling asleep.
So, would snot the more liquid form of boogers, have a lesser concentration of salt per deciliter than true boogers?
I've asked Mr. Owl and he don't know.
God, this thread is just gross.
Yeah....
If you think this snot thread is gross here's a whole LOT of gross snot threads!
Is there a World Size Record for this thread topic?
As they say on MXC:

"Yeh, especially when you find that grey booger with black specks in it. YUK."
But nothing beats a big, juicy GREENIE.
No, Gene knows better things to do with his tongue. But then a long tongue comes with the Genes while a silver tongue comes with the Jeans.
You lost me on that one.

Oh yeah, those Iron Man boots.
I am Iron Man!
Has he lost his mind?
Can he see or is he blind?
Can he walk at all
Or if he moves will he fall?
Heavy boots of lead
Fills his victims full of dread
Running as fast as they can
Iron Man lives again!
