The first little slithering bastid found the end of a shovel last night. As far as what kind it was, it's a dead one. DED!! I hope this isn't a sign of a bumper crop of them this year.

I've only found two rattlers so far this year. I try to catch them and turn them loose in the wash. They tend to keep the pack rats in check. The snakes don't mess with my truck but the rats sure love to eat on the wires. The bastids.
I see snakes around here every great once in a while. If it's a rattler, I'll catch it then call animal control. They'll come and relocate it to a place more suitable for a venomous snake than a populous suburban neighborhood. If it's anything else, I just leave it alone.
We don't have problems with snakes in this neck of the woods.... occasionally problems with the odd bear ....and even odder cougar (the four legged variety ....not the ones with bad lipstick)
They take them to the Number 6 dance.
You mean I should not pick up the ones with a triangular head? I just joined a church from West Va. They love the snakes. I learned to speak in tongues this week. Economy Oto!
