That's just the weight of Northwest snow. Heavy. But I am tiring of the world's pig piling right now.

We went from Xmas days -8C till todau +16 C.... whiplash weather raining though, we're used to that...
About 67º and more of the same. Overcast with rain at times.
Running fans throughout ...
Projected high was 74 but it reached 78 in my front yard. Currently 69 and it's a stuffy 69.
It's been overcast mostly with a few breaks in the clouds from time to time to reveal various layers of different types of clouds.
It's trying to rain right now, sprinkles and no sprinkles. That's a Southern saying, Trying To Rain.
Starting Monday it's supposed to cool down but still not down to January standards, and that's fine with me. Thing is, I get acclimated to the warm quicker than I get acclimated to the cold and this just throws everything off.
[edit]: Sources confirm. Expecting an early Spring this year in the SE. Mid to late February will see a warm up that will continue to trend upwards through March.
Still slightly below freezing here on the river delta. No cloud cover until tomorrow when it is claimed a buttload of rain is on tap for the week.
Recap - freezing temps, ice and snow then record rain = flooding on the way. :wtf:
* Blink *
And, just like that, the 70° + days are gone...

3" to 5" of heavy wet snow predicted at my location. Heavier amounts north and west. Power outages are already piling up... 180,000 at about 10:30.
Looks like the genny will get a workout. I love that thing, but because it's a whole house machine, it really burns up propane (currently $3.45/gallon).
I will count my blessings and wish you the best.

Went from mid 60's yesterday to 6" of snow today.

The sun came out today
The sun will come out tomorrow
38º
ultra fine sleet melting on contact
30 mph wind gusts from the south
6 C + no wind cloudy, what winter?
Right now it is 3 degF (-16 C) and sunny. Forecast rain tonight, with near hurricane winds tomorrow morning
34 degrees F freezing rain falling and temp dropping. 15 mph winds with 35+ gusts.
Should be interesting later today
Here in Ft.Myers, I am just able to stick my head out. We had many tornados, and waterspouts spin up and made it several miles inland. Lots of damage everywhere. I have power, trees down, bedlam. We will be back to mid 70's and blue skies in a few hours. I hope the pool is open lol.
I drank an entire pot of coffee watching this on radar, tv, out the window....I'm learning what living bicycle distance from the beach (which I've yet to visit, yeah, residents rarely visit theme parks and beaches for some reason)
Here is the edge of the winter storm down here

Temp down to 32 deg F Light rain with 20mph sustained winds and 39 mph gusts. No snow yet. running up and down the stairs running the laundry.
Still 32, turned into a sleet downpour and them heavy wet snow. The wind has dropped off a little
Had to go out and take the sun sail down on the back deck. It started sagging and bending the 1" support pipes. Had to unscrew the turnbuckles apart to get it dropped due to the 80lbs of slush on top of it. snow coming down heavy now
28ºF (-2.22ºC)About 5" (127mm) of snow topped with loose sleet. Stuff drifts up easy so depth could be deceptive.Quote:
(28°F − 32) × 5/9 = -2.222°C
Expecting a light dusting of more snow.
Attachment 1784133 Deg F snowing, some has melted off so still less than an inch of accumulation. Going to be interesting when the temp drops later and it all freezes solid. Sent the Lab out for testing
The south was supposed to get it.
At the last moment, someone must have jinked the system more northerly...the "occasional snow showers" in our forecast turned into 14-20" of accumulation. Been shoveling all day and there's more to do.
Yay.
Attachment 17850Its snowing again
39°F here in Ft.Myers...frost warning for inland counties....I don't have a furnace either, lol. It will be 70°F later today, I'll live.
Sunday, March 13 ... move your clocks ahead one hour.

I'm watching the local TV news. Yes, the weather is the lead story. I heard the words," wind chill factor" which I really didn't think I'd hear again for a local forecast. They spent a minute demonstrating how to defrost your car windows, which is a legal requirement to drive on the streets. My neighbors were wearing coats this morning, and it was 55°F when I took my stroll in shorts and shirt. I haven't been here long enough apparently.
Already snowing good here in ghetto rahway nj.
N1LAF not laffing! We're getting buried here in Lakewood, a freezing 20F with wind north at 9mph. It only gets worse, snow stops tonight BUT the bottom falls out of the thermometer @ 9F. I have nothing to complain about, Alaskans have a saying, "-20 is a warm day, -40 is cold, and -60 is DAMN cold.".
