We'll get a dusting of snow today. Sunday, it'll be 51.
Will it really get up to 58 today? Oh Joy!
No! Phil beats the rap when charges are dropped. No groundhog for Easter. Ohio DA drops charges.
Well, there's no such thing as a free ride. The handler is being considered for impeachment.Quote:
A winter-weary Ohio prosecutor who filed a tongue-in-cheek criminal indictment against the famous Pennsylvania groundhog over his "prediction" of an early spring dropped the charge Tuesday. Butler County Prosecutor Mike Gmoser said Punxsutawney Phil has a "defense with teeth in it" since the animal's handler is taking the blame.
Tough crowd.
LINK (was that really a joke? Or cabin fever?)
Quote:
He assured Ohio's lesser-known fuzzy forecaster, Buckeye Chuck, he won't face prosecution for his own erroneous prediction. Chuck, it turned out, was granted immunity after agreeing to cooperate with the state.
"I'm kind of done with animal cases," Mr. Gmoser said. "Maybe another prosecutor can go after the Easter Bunny."
Very hot in Brooklyn the other morning but some severe thunderstorms and tornado systems. We got some oif the runoff winds up here and I thought the roof was going to get torn off the house. Strange clouds changing shapes and moving fast.
-3 C and 1 cm snow on the ground...
"Strange clouds changing shapes and moving fast."
A common sight on the streets of Brooklyn. (;->) It's been a typical March, sun, rain, snow and blustery with yo yo temperatures as summer fights to kick winter. April showers bring May flowers and June isn't far behind, my favorite girlfriends.
UFO?
Lenticular clouds. See 'em around here frequently.
As a bonus, I used to have a pair of those Dynastar skis.
So some say...
Something about those theories smells fishy.Quote:
In the small town of Eden, N.Y., the recent appearance of mysterious circles in a frozen pond has residents baffled.
Last Friday, during an early spring snowstorm, Eden resident Peggy Gervase was looking at the pond near her home when she noticed an unusual pattern in the snow covering the water's surface: large circles that resembled giant polka dots.
"I've never seen this before in our pond," Gervase told local TV station WGRZ. "It's eerie in a way, but cool in a way."
After Gervase posted a photograph of the pond circles to the station's Facebook page, respondents offered a number of explanations for the strange circles, including elephant footprints, fish flatulence and aliens.

If cat farts smell like fish, what do catfish farts smell like? Now ponder this.
91F/33C for Easter Sunday.
-0.5 C now, sunny expecting + 5 C today normally it should be +12..
Forecast to be 57°F (14ºC) today with rain showers. It has been warmer since the snow isn't cooling the wind. Amazing how noisy it can be here. There's a woodpecker in the woods and I can hear him clearly.
For those observing, Happy Holidays.
65°F (18°C) and Sunny this afternoon. Spring is arriving but the cool alpine winds are whipping the branches. Trees are still bare, but it is forecasted to be 75°F (24°C) Tuesday (with rain).
We're on the front end of the "hot season", which will peak in May and dissipate in mid/late June, when the "rainy season" will begin.
It's 86F/30C right now, but one forecast is predicting 95F/35C by next Friday.
Hell's bells and all is weeeuuulll. Typical spring here nothing to report. (Sounds like a Skywarn net.) Alpine winds in New York? GLOBAL WARMING!
I think we finally broke out of winter, and into spring. I started my seeds in the greenhouse (Again). Last time I did this, it snowed the next day. I've got faith this time though :)
Warm and balmy for the first time this year, 68°F (20°C) and Sunny. There were cicadas in chorus last night and in the woods today.
Tomorrow 75°F (24°C).
Overcast skies, coolish (58 F) and very windy here.
Warm and windy, a big snowstorm is coming.
Check out this awesome linky... http://hint.fm/wind/
Denver is sucking up all the air, we're all gonna die!
! 80°F (27°C) and Sunny. I'll take it. Too bad my nerve damage is acting up and I'm in bed.

Well the crap weather has finally arrived. Almost 80 degrees and sunny here today. Fortunatelty there is a cool breeze from the north west and a low humidity that makes it feel cooler than it really is. Also, it will be cooling down to the 50's later this week. I am looking forward to that. But all in all I am going to have to put up with about 6 months of garbage weather before the decent weather returns,.
We're about 30 miles north of Denver, and the much ballyhooed snowfall mostly missed us. A couple inches of snow so far, but we do have 15 mph breeze and 20 degs F.
It's 84 here, sunny, light breeze. 19% humidity. Time for a beer.
Last 3 days our weather has been identical to that of KW. I did tell everyone on FB that I would be bringing Summer back with me and now they can see how serious I am!
Look at picture temp 7 degrees rain and all that...
You can see the indentations of th tyres of the old van though...
Attachment 9350
had some storms roll though the AM hours couple counties northwest was under tornado warnings about 2am'ish
Now got rain... yard is flooded
"I did tell everyone on FB that I would be bringing Summer back with me and now they can see how serious I am!"
More like delirious, one hot day and we're back to cold, damp and rain.
Oh good grief, either those bricks were laid on swampy soil or it was a 55,000lb/24,947kg/27t armored van.
10 years parking in the same spot with a 1900 Kg van ( empty) will do that just as fine.
Now the new car is 833 Kilo empty... lots more economic in fuel as well, and my first automatic transmission i bought... ending 42 years stick shifting cars vans and articulated lorry's till the next car, still miss the shifting though, don't know what to do with my left foot now...
Tundur strom last night. Cleared up all the pollen which was PROFUSE! I guess this makes more room for more pollen. 75º currently with 10mph winds out of the SW.
Mowed the lawn yesterday just in time for the rain. Charged up the battery, fixed the left front tire, sharpened the blades, knocked down the half of the apple tree that was broken and chopped up the branches through the blade deck and ran the black walnut pods through the blades and that polished up the inside of the blade deck.
65 °F (18 °C) and sunny with a bit of breeze blowing in off the ocean. Yet another perfect day in San Diego. Yawn.
Low of 38°F/High of 41°F (4°C/5°C) today with heavy rain until 2PM EDST (1800 GMT).
Cool and wet, my kind of day. This is typical April weather in the area.
Very rough weather here today. Intense blinding rain, mixed with freezing rain at times, and incredible wind gusts Rain was coming down horizontally in sheets. Wind gusts must have been at least 80-90 hurricane gusts from early morning to late afternoon.
This comes on the heels of a severe thunderstorm on Wednesday. Rolled in about 7:00pm with black clouds, very heavy downpours, intense lightning, brutal wind gusts, large hailstones and likely some tornado activity. Thunderstorm lasted well over 12 hours from 7:00pm Wed - 8:00 am Thursday.
The 10mph winds out of the SW turned into 35mph winds that the NWS turned a blind eye to. While scooting around, one direction I had to fight the wind while in the other the tailwind gave me such a boost that I did zero to 35 in under 3 seconds. While facing the wind, tucking helped but did not negate the total effect of having a giant hand holding you back and keeping my RPMs down.
