I have a theory of which hams are not weather geeks. You just shot it all to hell.

Late night and AM showers gave way to partial clearing before more clouds rolled in. Four more days of solid rain expected.
Could have been a typo. Then again, this is South Carolina. The remote monitoring gear isn't always in great shape. I know the one by the railroad tracks is/was constantly being repaired. I saw them working on it one day and saw a rust spot running from the top mounting position to the underside of the box, on the pole. I suggested they look at the mounting parts as that would be the weak spot letting in unwanted moisture to areas they didn't want it!
They were polite. I felt I was told to STFU and FO. That was 5 years ago. Haven't seen it worked on since but the rust lives on.
I'm at 99% humidity now with a floating mist in the air. 56ºF. 57º dew point.
Rust never sleeps. I seem to remember that from somewhere in my childhood.

Last year at this time is was about 29ºF and cloudy. The real rain didn't come until May and it didn't stop until August. For a few weeks, 4, we had a normal pattern but the rain came back.
6th wettest year on record. 1901 beat this with 78.85 inches.Quote:
By 10 a.m. Monday, the region had logged 11.42 inches of rain in December alone and 67.92 inches for the year, according to Justin Lane, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service at the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport in Greer.

Thats crazy!
We've been light on the rain around here until the last couple of weeks when it has almost caught up for the year. Weirdness in spades. The only problem with the sun coming out is it stays about 10-15* colder at night. Amazing how much warmer it stays under cloud insulation.

Good. I was worried my mud would dehydrate.
6 C, sunny, with a chance on a few rain drops.
1 to 2 Beaufort.
"Here it comes" starting this week.
Though the Alps are drowning in snow, we didn't see any winter here, bar the 1/2 inch snow that thawed away almost directly in December.
Yesterday 10 C and rain, today sunny and 5 C, at the end of the week maybe a change to some colder weather with a bit night frost, though still not certain.
Still watching what the SSW will do.
As things look now the new 4 season tires won't get much work this winter, though February is the coldest month here...
Well the all season tires are not working well here either. The swamp formally known as my front yard has almost swallowed my truck and the wifeys car several times recently. If the mud gets any deeper I may need to get a 4wd.
They didn't call for rain today but rain came a calling anyway.
The cold air arrived... got up to 5 DegF this afternoon
-2.5 C here, snowing, just a dusting of 1 to 2 inches, nothing spectacular though, my 4 season tires at last prove their worth.
We got anywhere between 15-18" of Harper in NE Ahia.
Digging out was fun. Watching 50+ degree temperatures and rain turn all this to floods will be funnerer.
Buy a boat....
Temps lowering to -10 to - 13 C the next nights thanks through the snow cover.... electric blanket stand by.
Had some fun with the new car on a large spot with snow, just testing the ABS and the other 3 letter safety systems and tires.
We survived....:smoker:

Rain this evening and tonight up to an inch.
High today and tomorrow 56ºF.
High yesterday 40º.
Hugh Monday 35º.
High pressure area has remained of the area for days.
Jet stream expected to dip down as far south as the Georgia Florida state line.
Jet stream expected to be the biggest variable in all the prediction models.
More dry on tap. I fear fire this summer...
Coldmageddon mid next week?
Had that problem with a load of shopping carts once. Both stops were on the bill. The boss read them wrong and went to Chino first. Chino's load was in the nose, not the tail. What a freaking nightmare that load was, 6 or 7 stops all together and we had to reverse engineer the whole count and route to keep it right. Taught me early on to pay attention to the bills.
He wasn't too happy when I pointed out his error about 300 miles out of route. Of course I was in training so I was paying attention to other things like the actual operation of the truck. I only caught it because I was not driving and got bored so I thought it a good time to look at that sort of stuff. Did eventually get an atta-boy for it and proved my worth early on to the company. I'm glad I didn't have to make that call to dispatch to say oops.
How does all that relate to the possible summer coming? If we don't keep up on the rain/snow around here we dry out quick and this region is used to its moisture. We get bad fires as it is in Oregon, but if it continues to dry like this, we could see epic fires in places that haven't had fires like that in 70-80 years; areas that are now all built up. No bueno....
Damn it has been cold here. 50's in the morning, and mid 60's daytime. I had to wear a sweater on the bike today!
Wednesday night it's predicted to be -27 °F. Thinking I might add some antigel to the truck and make sure I start the girls cars a couple times overnight.
Temps back to normal for the time of the year, above 0 C that is, with a mix of sun, rain, sleet hail mixed in.
No problem for the new ( ish) Hyundai I10, tested in the last december checkup good for - 30 C + and the dinky 1 liter engine boasts an 70 Amp AGM battery for the stop and go system in place of the normal 44 amp lead battery for the cars without stop and go system.
Thursday morning is forecasted to be -34F here. At that time we will be colder than Siberia, Mt Everest, and the South Pole.
Holee McFucksters!!
