6" shy of rain for the month and even more unusually dry days to come. Yikes!
One moment i drive in snow, the next days it will be + 10 C, the wondrous world of weather... figures.
Yesterday it was 50 ish with light rain on occasion. 20 miles up the road there was light snow.
Today we had some clouds but no rain. Got up to 60 here
A week ago we were getting a foot of lake effect.
I looked out the windows this morning and the only traces remaining are the piles around the driveway and walk edges where I shoveled - and they should be gone today.
You don't have to shovel the heat.
I aimed my heat blower your way. You should see it soon.
Yep. I think he wore it out.
I'm not blowing anything or anyone. Just normal breathing for an old man.
That's a bonus at your age
True, but I could do without the wheezing.
Polar vortex has sort of pushed down into my neck of the woods and dropped night time temperatures to about -6 degrees C and day times getting to about freezing.
With about 8 centimeters of snow to boot....... 50% chance of a white Christmas for us,La Nina has made it's presence known here!
0% on snow this Xmas, + 8.3 c here, clouded, bit windy.
Cold start of the December month including snow, but all that lasted 3 days....
Next 14 days temps above 0 no winter in sight, must be me having bought 4 all season tires.... no winter for the next years...;)
Its all your fault Cor. You just had to buy those tires.
Could not stop myself, must have been impulse buying getting the better of me, now look where it got me.... ;)
It finally started snowing out here, FFS!
Here too oddly enough. It took miss Tiff twice the normal amount of time to make the trip tonight. I'm glad she made it so she will finally calm down a bit. Found out one of our kitties died while I was down here in the big PO spending money like no tomorrow. And the dark hua got hurt playing with mom's big dogs dogs for about $200 .So I guess I wont be buying any tires any time soon.
Yep, bad luck, get well soon, hate it to see one of the guy's here in health problems.
My health problems are insignificant to some, and controlled by tablets and losing weight for type 2 starting diabetes.
Including my 385 Euro i ay for medicines each year and 1300 Euro insurance i know that is all i have to pay whatever happens medically.
AAgain, get well soon and get your butt out of hospital....;)
Thanks Cor. Thanks to everyone for your humbling support
Finally, some good weather for a change.
No worries.....81 degrees today...76 tomorrow....it's friggin FREEZING!!!
-9 a couple hours ago. Windchill to -30 range. Not nice. Wake up call was a natural gas leak. Made the mistake of going direct to scene and about freezing to death. Ran a lot of incident command from the inside of my truck.
It is 9F now going down to -1F here in New Hampshire. It is like living in a refrigerator in this RV, you can feel the cold rolling off the walls. I think I want to go back south for a few years.
14 and falling in Jeffersonville OH. Going to +1. Heading to North Central Illinois where its supposed to +7 for a high tomorrow and -11 low. Frickin COLD!!
Squirt on a little #1, or some Howes. I forgot once. Once. Brrrrrr! Stay warm
Same story here Kev. Must be that cold front I'm hearing about.
However, if it's going to be low 80s by day, and 50s by night all winter, we are are going to spontaneously combust this summer. Those 122 degree days last summer are going to be a walk in the park compared to what may be coming.
Start sunbirding it?
7-10 inches of snow on the ground with gale force winds. 7 to 10 more inches expected. Snow until New Years morning....
I love Michigan.... this place rocks!
It's too bad there's no way to convert snow fall into free energy to charge batteries or something.
Imagine what our forefathers thought about the weather. I'm sure that's where some of the most colorful metaphors came from
Warmst day since 1910 13.4 C ....
Yep. Actually up in the Adirondacks where a friend of mine lives they got down to about 35 below zero and a town just 20 miles north of his reached 40 below ZERO... the coldest temperature in the country for that day. At those temperatures you make sure you leave no skin exposed when outdoors as frostbite and resulting tissue damage happens very fast. 40, 50, 60, and more below zero occur frequently in places like the Klondike. Much less frequent in northern New York. Here in Southern NY we are expecting snow tomorrow morning with rapidly plummeting temperatures into the single digits and high winds. Best of all I have to be out in it tomorrow morning.
We've been hitting morning lows of 10ºF (-12.22ºC). Local building codes only require that homes be good to 23ºF (-5ºC).
My first time with 20F below I found out that the vinyl front seat on my 64 Valiant shatters very well at those temps... Car started just fine though (slant 6 and a 4 speed). Also found out that a good car heater in California may not be so good in New England.
Right now it's snowing so hard out there with hard driving winds that I can barely see across the yard. The windows are closed tight yet the snow driven wind is seeping through the tiniest space and forcing snow inside. Stand by any window on the northwest side of the house and you can feel the ice crystals coming in.
