Seems you guys stole my weather.

With all the sand sharks pulling out of the Santa Cruz.....
Typing this on my phone by the light of a kerosene lamp. Been raining hard all day and the power has been out since around 10:00 this morning.
Gale warning... 50 to 60 mph winds.... 11 foot breakers on the lake.
Let's do this!
Damn, going in to the near 90s today. Me thinks it's gonna be a hot hot summer. Seems we missed winter and fall.
Wheres those spring desert pics?
People here are getting all gardeny but we still have a few more frozen nights to go.
50MPH winds here at the moment.
My new favorite game? "Pick Up Sticks".
For the weather minded- the sound of surf from my front yard:

Just extra wet and cold at CN86jc. Above average precipitation and below average temperatures in the foreseeable future. Snowed a couple inches Monday morning but it melted off before noon in the rain.
I hope the wind minds it's manners or we will get a whole bunch more trees coming down.
It looks like we are going to have about a week of adiabatic warming here with temperatures reaching into the 70s in Sacramento, and near 80 in the lower foothills.
Same deal down here in SoCal. It's only 54°F right now but temps are predicted to hit 75° by noon. After the winter we've had here, I don't mind at all—if for no other reason that the cutie in the slip across from me has been wearing her bathing suit the last couple of days.
Pictures please. (not of the sock or what's in it, either)
No pix available, sorry.
But, just to rub it in a bit, here's a True Story: She invited me over to her boat for a drink Wednesday night, we both got very drunk and spent the whole night…talking. Just talking. Then, we went out sailing together yesterday.
She's cute, sweet, friendly, a lot of fun to be with and if she wasn't married*, I'd fall for her like a ton of bricks.
*They live in Phoenix; she sometimes come out here to work on the boat (and escape Phoenix).
The Gentleman Sicilian. Has that character been written yet?
About the weather. Well, after an extremely mild winter with virtually no snow, ice or even cool weather winter has finally decided to arrive in the middle of March in spring.. Bout 15 degrees right now, coldest it's been all year. The snow from yesterday is still around and staying solidly frozen. But the big one hits Monday night and Tuesday with plenty of heavy snow and subfreezing temps. So, I guess I can say we did get winter after all. It just took till spring to get here.
Little too warm winter, some frosty nights, and a small flurry of snow, hail eetc, now back at sunny and 13 degrees Celcius, next week going up to 15 -18 C.
Good riddens to the "winter" ;)
Headed home to Oklahoma. Gonna be mid 50's today and tomorrow and upper 60's Monday and Tuesday. Back to mid 50's by Wednesday when i go back to work. Gonna be nice hangout weather. It's 74 in south end of Ft Worth at the moment.

Cool man, I'm guessing this isn't a normal state of affairs most years. I am fascinated by a green desert, that's all. Nice!
Usually it does turn green, but it happens later, usually towards the end of April. Normally, the wild grass and weeds don't last very long, either. With all the rain we've had lately, it's brought up weeds I've never seen before, And, usually the weeds don't get very tall during years of normal rainfall.
Have you any pics of the cactus' (cacti?) flowering or is it past that point already?
I wasn't sure on the flowering timing, but that is so awesome when cacti start flowering. Be sure and catch those if you get a chance for us, please.
Thanks Eddie for taking the time to take and share those pics with us. I appreciate it!
Cool man. I never seen the desert in meteorological Spring. Weeds you never seen before, eh? Amazing innit?
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnd, we has a light grazing of sneu.
We still have a major blizzard on tap for Tuesday with heavy snow, whiteout conditions, and high winds raging up to and over 50-60 mph creating massive snow drifts. It's supposed to start Monday night after midnight and continue through Tuesday night into Wednesday where it will taper down into snow showers followed by continued subfreezing temps and possibly more snow on Saturday. It's wild its like winter is catching up for what it missed in spring... Assuming this blizzard does materialize as expected it will be 2.5 -3 days later than the famous March blizzard of 1888 that literally buried New York City in well over 50 inches of snow and massive snow drifts. Actually this blizzard will overlap the blizzard of 1888 since the 1888 storm ran from March 11-14 and this storm March 13-15. The 1888 blizzard came after a bout of very mild weather, very similar to this oncoming storm.
Yep, saw the weather reports about it, and wondered about it...... it is March...
We;re here at 53 dgrees North, same as Alaska, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/53rd_parallel_north but the warm Gulfstream keeps us in a relative warm sea climate.
Enjoy the snow..... brrrrr.
Though the cutting the grass season here doesn't make me happy either.
