60 here now but it's "chilly" 60. 68 by tomorrow and now it's 73 by Friday.
Sort of like here at the moment........ been this way for the last 3 weeks, below normal temperatures of up to to -10 degrees C at night and we are lucky if gets above freezing during the day with a little bit of snow in for good measure definately below normal conditions during winter! It hasn't been this cold for about 6 or 7 years or since the last La Nina type winter........supposed to warm up greatly next week.........hopefully
59°F and light rain here. That's what constitutes bad weather in these parts.
January 12th and it's in the high 50s, with a severe thunderstorm warning for the county just south of mine. Flood warnings everywhere too.
From Winter to Summer. Thispast weekend, subfreezing temps and snow. Today I wear a tee shirt and bask in 60+ degree temps with all traces of winter vanished. I put the AC and the fans on this afternoon for the first time since October.. Over the weekend winter returns for one or two days followed by another 5 day bout of "summer". It's just a natural cycle. ;)
Hit 72 TODAY! Still calling for 74 tomorrow but the potential for 76 is there. If I can get up early enough I may take the bike out for a spin.
You guys are having better weather back there than we're having in San Diego:
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 10pm, then a chance of showers. Low around 50. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Unlash the moorings and set sail. Shiver some timber, or some such stuff, I dunno.....
Oh, you might get to the Carolinas in time for summer though, unless you put the boat on a trailer and truck it out :snicker:
sun came out today
So, if the tsunami alert goes out, and you're on the boat, what's the plan?
That is convenient. As long as you didn't sleep through it
Global warming is obviously a lie, since it's going to be 50 degrees F in the "Snow Capitol of the US" tomorrow.
Well, it is January after all :spin:
I have 74 here. Counties east of me are ranging from 76 to 79.
It has been a bit chilly here. 43 for a high yesterday, 48 today, and the same is forecast for tomorrow.
Tonight's low ... 53ºF. 11.6C.
So far this is a pretty crappy winter. Mostly mild with a few cold snaps in between.Actually it was colder in the fall. The other thing is that it seems to be raining constantly. For every 1 clear day we been getting about 5 days of rain.
The rain is back. Now the snow and ice will melt.
sigh
Another series of big storms will hit California with high winds and heavy rain starting late tonight or early tomorrow and continuing for the next six days. This time, the atmospheric river is aimed more at southern California, so things might get exciting down here--the National Weather Service is predicting between 4 and 10 inches of rain in San Diego County, depending on location. Just to put things in perspective, the average annual rainfall in SD is 10 inches.
At least you're already on a boat.
Actual text from the local office of the National Weather Service's forecast discussion:
A final northerly wave seems to move through Tuesday extending the showers, which might include snow in the high desert. The numbers are ridiculous; total rainfall for the entire period today through Tuesday: 2-5 inches in coast and valleys, 5-10 inches in the mountains with a few spots exceeding 12 inches
If your far enough out in the sea your boat will simply ride out the tsunami. In fact you might not even notice it. You can even be swimming and just ride over it. The real problem / danger is when the tsunami reaches the shallower coastal line waters and of course when it hits the shoreline.
Couple weeks ago we were well into the subfreezing temperatures with snow. 2 days later it was 65 degrees and I was outside flying one of my radio controlled helicopters wearing just a tee short. Then winter returned for a day and then it warmed up into the mid-upper40's . Looks like it's going to stay mild for at least another week or more.Next winter-like day isn't scheduled till next saturday.
Even the rat is going to get soaked for the next few days. Maybe the Pope can toss me a line as I go by.
The way San Diego is getting rain, he maybe riding the tidal wave right by you.
Hey, could you guys down there put the stoppers back in the reservoirs and catch some of this rain for later on?
Wait till Trump starts burning all that coal.
Hard to say what's going on here... it's the end of January. It's not cold out and we'll have rain for the next 8 hours.
WTF?!?!?
Spring is here.
Oooohh you have that creepy weather thing on your computer too. Here's mine - except my screen capture software apparently isn't as good as yours.
Hit alt+print screen.
Pull up Paint.
Click on the clipboard.
Click on File.
Click on Save As.
Choose name and location.
It's all already on your system if you're a Windows user.
All I get is a blank thing. This is why I hate computers. And here I wanted to try to set up a packet station for something to do..........I must be nuts.
Alt & print screen, all as you say, nothing but a white box. I'm too stupid to figure it out right now. Maybe I need to tip over and quit messing around in the bit bucket.....try again later on.
Have a great day Charles, enjoy your Spring!
