I guessed it was 62º but it's 66º. Hard to get acclimated to a season when this happens.

Christ... we've got a gale warning....
Then tomorrow it's supposed to be 20º lower. Right now I feel the Gulf moisture as the jet stream vacillates.
It was 37°F when I got up this morning. That's what passes for cold here.
Temperatures are going to be up in the fawties for the next 7-10 days. Gonna melt alll that snow and oce out there.
Oh, boy, some actual weather in San Diego for a change. Sunny and warm gets monotonous after a while.
"A strong cold storm system will move through southern California tonight and Saturday and bring moderate to heavy rainfall with snow in the mountains. Strong gusty winds will occur mainly in the mountains and deserts this afternoon through Saturday, but somewhat strong winds will occur at the coast as well. […] Rainfall amounts look to be one to locally two inches west of the mountains with local 2-3 inch totals in the mountains. [...] rainfall rates could reach or exceed 1/2 inch per hour. Saturday, there could be a few thunderstorms with brief heavy rainfall. The snow level will fall from about 6500 feet with the onset of the precip this evening to 4000 feet by Saturday morning and 3000 feet by late Saturday with the colder air moving in."
We're shooting for 40 tomorrow. Sounds like a great day for a 10 mile run :)
Currently we had a slight sleet but with mostly rain. 40ºF and dropping but the precipitation has passed for now although "they" are calling for overnight snow.
Grocery stores were wrecked yesterday.
Is about 20 here in Oklahoma. Had a. Dusting of snow overnight.went to do laundry at about 10am. Started flurries and by 1115 we had about 3 inches. Forgot I got summer tires on the pickup...lol. enjoyed slip sliding all over town. Our govt has an opinion that "nature put it on, nature will take it off". No salt, sand or anything.
Unseasonably (not unheard of) chilly here, 26/8, lucky us the precipitation doesn't start again until the moderate temps try to return on Saturday. In the mean time, sleet and freezing rain will be the order of the day till probably mid Monday once this starts. I hate it when the freezing rain brings the trees and power lines down, even though our power company is top notch at getting things back up again (poor bastards). It is January after all.
Currently:
12f, -2 wind chill, snow falling.....
From January until the first week of March- we are part of the arctic. The big Freeze has begun.

DAMN
What the hell is that under the ice, Mike?
Central and northern California is looking at 10 to 20 inches of rain between today and Wednesday. That's almost an entire normal rainy season's worth of precipitation in less than a week. I think it's safe to say that the drought is finally over.
You. Are. Shitting. Me.
I suppose they just leave it on automatic and walk away? I doubt you're getting any doors open on that building (I'm assuming this is like the lighthouses on the OR coast - willing to be mistaken) or worse yet, frozen in. That is crazy nuts.
Nope...it's. what it is...
We live next to an inland sea- so when the wind blows so does the water....
This was in late November/Early December (same lighthouse- 6 miles south of me.):

2" of snow.
As a note: No one without a death wish puts a boat in the water after the end of October... all the heavy iron shipping (think 1000 foot ships) stops in the beginning of November.
Nothing goes on the Great Lakes until the second week of March.

That lighthouse looks like the makings of a Gordon Lightfoot song. We are having an ice storm here on the Albemarle Sound. Just waiting for the power to go out.
Here's the St. Joseph light sans ice:

So, it's just a little dude. Relatively. Like these - Arago & Bandon
But not this - Yaquina Head
The Yaquina Head lighthouse is a dead ringer for the Pigeon Pt. light in the SF Bay Area:

I (barely) remember many a pot-debauched weekend evening there back in my misspent yoot.
You know what Carl, upon further inspection that pic I put up could inadvertently BE Pigeon Point. Looking at the images it seems Pigeon Point has a red roof while Yaquina Head has a gray roof. WTF!
Do you suppose the same architectural plans were used at both sites? How weird is that? Or maybe the internet is making a fool out of me.
Shitty thing is I was up at Yaquina head on Christmas Day and I can't remember what color the roof is. Maybe the yl has a pic on her phone....
Shit!
EDIT!
Aw $#@&, I see the differences now. Pigeon Point has that outbuilding that Yaquina Head doesn't. Like I said earlier, I gotta get my shit together. This coffee ain't cutting it.
Could be the same plans, also could just be a matter of form following function but they sure do look a lot alike. I believe the Pigeon Point light may be taller, or perhaps it's just that the tower is a bit slimmer.
♫ The sailors all died and the women all cried cause they had to go on welfare and had no insurance ...
♫ The children wandered 'round town with no jobs to be found so they turned to drugs and pro-ahh-sti-tution ...
I know, right? That was an old bit from a comedian who said that anytime you want to clear out a party that all you had to do was put on the song,
Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" and suddenly people would be tripping over each other trying to get out the door.
Aaaannd the snow is starting in the North County. A little late, but here we go. The warming is on the way! But, not without the obligatory two days of freezing rain causing all manner of fuckery. Whoo hoo!
Wow, ole mother nature has mercy on me. Just rain, no freezing. Unlike south of me.
We are a crunchy winter wonderland here....
I'm glad I'm padded. Just a "slide on your ass" winter here. I had to break the ice gluing my garage door to the ground.
All winter we had was 1/2 an inch of snow followed by freezing rain, making skating rinks of the roads in Europe, with the usual idiots crashing their cars thinking snowtyres and ABS. and lots more 3 letter aids systems makes their Audi-Mercedes-BMW ( fill in car of choice) immune for that, still driving like idiots.
Just the Saturday here, back to Autumn now, rain, 4 to 5 C.
Small chance on returning " winter" next weekend though.
After a few"cold"days with temps in the teens to around 20 F. we also finally got some snow. Now, for the next several days we return to the 40's with rain and occaisional icy mixes for the next 4or5 days or more.:(
seventy two degrees fahrenheit by friday
KRIC (Richmond International Airport) recorded 8" of snow here, and a low temperature the other night of 0°. Tomorrow, the forecast is for 68°.
