"the Walking Zed"
You hit the zed right on the nail! Unfortunately it being the swamp (not to be confused with the M*A*S*H swamp) it went SPLAT and you really don't want your hammer back.
Summer his us early this year. This heat and humidity is overbearing.
Eh, it is what it is, 86 with HI 89 and I'm not laughing. You really have little to complain about, here at the shore summers are hot and steamy, winters are cold and damp. You may like cold but you wouldn't like damp, it soon penetrates layers of clothing and chills to the bone. It's neither hot nor damp in Point Barrow, Alaska and KL7 is sought after DX.
I am not sure I would want to live in Point Barrow. I am geared more towards the Canadian Yukon or it's Alaskan counterpart. I like mountains, snow and pine trees.
But for now and the rest of the summer I'll probably spend most of my time hiding in an air conditioned room as I am doing now.
Mostly cloudy here, high of 72°F, low 57°F. Currently 67°F with wind from the WNW at 4 mph, gusting to 7 mph
Light Rain and 74ºF (23ºC).
TS Bonnie has hit the east coast sending up this rain.
We get rain from almost any direction in this location. You can tell by the smell where it pulled the majority of its water from.

People have managed to screw up the environment so badly gigantic gravity waves could mix summer with winter, and the jet stream could run from pole to shining pole. The human inhabitants of this planet have missed the global warming bells until now, so maybe this blunt new warning will hit home.
Gravity waves and the jet stream? Huh?
uhm, yes, the upper jet stream wandered over the equator and mixed up with the southern Jetstream, which totally surprised boffins because they never saw that happen, the wandering of jet streams also changing weather patterns.
A new kind of climate change? Waddya fa-kin HIGH?!?!? According to greenie robotnik Farton Fanney, science fiction writer and futurist on drugs, this looks like Picasso on LSD.
79 here and clear skies... storms over night.
Hasn't been unusual here. Well, unusual for the new normal. Hot (upper 90s to lower 100s). Dry. Mixed with upper 80s, lower 90s and moist, not wet.
The afternoon pop ups do seem to be bitchier though. Seeing more hail in these little storms and higher wind speeds. We just had a long stretch of the hots with the drys until just last Sunday. June was starting to feel like early to mid August. Still behind on rain after 3 years of heavy wet conditions. Before that, in 2012 we had a dry, blast furnace Summer.
So far so bad here.I can't wait till summer ends. But at least it's been moderate here compared to many other places. And once again, a surprising lack of local thunderstorms for the 3rd year in a row. Then again we haven't had any high 80's or 90's yet. Hopefully we won't and it will lead us right into winter.
You can have some of our thunderstorms!

Forecast keeps calling for afternoon thunder storms but they're all 50 miles north in the thicker mountains. Winds have been really kicking up, bringing the clouds but no rain. I see the rain clouds but they blow on by.
Forecast for Lemon Grove, CA, USA (-117,32.7) as of 3:33 AM PDT:
Boring, as usual
Thursday: Partly cloudy skies. High around 80F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Thursday Night: Clear early followed by mostly cloudy skies overnight. Low 62F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Friday: Partly cloudy skies. High 81F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
Hot and humid as heck today. I had to head over to the hood for a bit and by the time I got back I was drenched in sweat from head to toe. I don't want to rush the time but I'll be glad once the summer is over and things start to cool down.
Blast furnace and high wind conditions today until 8:30 when a low moisture storm rolled in with great bluster and noise.
It was wicked outside today. Hot and extremely humid. Only place that was comfortable was Da Hood and I don't mean that metaphorically. It overlooks the Hudson and there was a cooling breeze from the vast river. Otherwise it was brutal out there and in the direct sun it was 10X brutal. Supposed to be even more brutal tomorrow and over the next few days.
4 mile run today, about all I could manage. I think I may need to take it indoors this week.
Raining now... storms incoming. No lightning, been running a lot of WSPR lately because I don't feel like talking. Will run through the incoming storm.
However, here in our forest, we now have 4 emergency generators on our and our neighbor's property. It's become an observable phenomenon that as the density of emergency generator capacity increases in an area, the proclivity of storms to go around an area increases.
This only relates to fully installed whole-house generators.
The density of emergency generators stored in garages also has the same effect on storms hitting harder.
It's been so hot and humid outside this summer I can barely stand it. I've unfortunately had to spend most of it indoors. Kinda glad I'm not having to work in hot transmitter buildings any longer, although some facilities I've worked in were actually air conditioned.
It is so hot here, the Albemarle Sound is like a sheet of glass. I think I saw a Bald Eagle in the water paddling behind some seagulls.
Yeah it's hot. But it is summer. Actually been kinda pleasant, mostly normal or under normal temperatures around here for the most part. So much so the garden is confused and is way behind in production. Just now throwing in some above normal temperatures, which happened in early June, which helped screw the garden up in the first place.
All in all, the trees are changing and losing leaves early. Been a pleasant summer for the most part but I suspect we will be paying for it soon enough.
It's been a very pleasant, mild summer here right up until the last couple of days. Currently 101°F in the back yard.
Supposed to go back to rain every day tomorrow, so I'll have to ride to work with the doors and roof on again. How boring.
Cool and sticky today. Got about 24 hours of rain.... now cool and sticky.
No way to get comfortable unless I run the space heater along with the air conditioner.
The weather people have issued hot weather advisories for most parts of Vancouver Island and mainland parts of southwestern British Columbia until the middle of next week with sunny skies and temperatures in mid 30 degrees Celsius...... maybe record breaking stuff coming up is the warning! How nice!
Low 90's with sweltering Southern steam. I've felt every kind of humidity. This is a stingie humidity. Steam that stings.
Still unable to remove enough moisture from the shack.
As of 17 Aug - It's supposed to be 100*+ the next three days in the Willamette valley. Lucky me, being down river (Columbia) from them usually results in a 5-10* difference, down. Being on the lower Columbia river delta has its upside, besides being closer to the coast than the big city (Portland) nitwits, unless you consider Longview, WA the big city. It's big the eff enuf for me to avoid unless absolutely necessary, plus it's always hotter there than out in the woods.
I grew up in suburban Denver, lived in Portland almost 18 years and now wouldn't go back on a dare/bet/threat for anything. Why it took so long to move out into the cooler areas is beyond me. You metro area dwellers can keep the temperature increase from all that concrete and asphalt.
It's 3:30 in the afternoon i'm ready to go to work and it is a record breaking 36 degrees Celsius here on Vancouver Island! 40 degrees in Port Alberni! Thank goodness for air conditioning!
Today's high temp was 73F (23C).
Meanwhile here in CO, the upper peaks are getting their first dusting of snow.
Cold front moved in, a bunch of soaking rain at lower altitudes.
Today's high "down" in Denver, 75, low about 50.
Ahhhhhh.
