My very first rig was an HW-8 kit, but i sold the unfinished kit and got an old Galaxy V. Frank, KL7FH, tweaked it for me as he was a really sharp guy.

The NEW shack!!
Nope, that was my coffee cup....all the litre bottles under the desk are for contest.
Sorry. My bad. I guess they do it a litle different in Vegas, but that's the gamble you take when you go there.
AAAAAH!

....and a chipmunk, it seems.
Now THIS is a true ham shack! Kudos, Pat, for not bullshitting anyone...thats the real deal. From the chipmunk, to the multitudes of ball caps, to the mic cables everywhere, to the top shelf about to cave in any moment, to the Chinese tassel, to papers, pill bottles and jars of things being shoved into any available spot....this is real hamdom!
True....or empty soda jugs for pissing in so you dont lose your frequency during contests.
Shiiiiiit. That aint nothin. If he ever gets power in the garage, he can work every ham on earth, with a different rig, at the same time.
I did a little remodeling and used Field Day as an operating proof. First, the side which actually works well:

And now, the problematic one. The left-hand Paragon is awaiting a set of 500 and 250hz filters and must be removed from the lineup for their installation. As for the other...I'm pretty sure there are a number of PIN diodes on the TX and RX bandpass filters that are asleep at the wheel, and possibly one or two on the 1st and 2nd Mixer boards. I have no transmit or receive from 1.7-2.5MHz; the 6KHz 1st Mixer filter (and more than likely its pass-through equivalent on the 2nd Mixer board) appears to be 20dB down in throughput and compared to the other filters.
Both of the transceivers are going to dance with the signal generator and a scope before going back inline.
The Herc-II shown in the picture is currently the world's most expensive speaker: I'm not going to run 220v into the shack for its power supply, and those don't like 110v.

If it's mine, it's hers.
OH I LOVE THESE CAT PIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SUCH NICE NICE PUSSY!
Here is Miss Phoebe guarding the radio to make sure I don't try and pick up the mic. If I do, I get BITTEN!!!

Two of mine will venture near but not onto the radio desk; the third prefers its spot on the couch. When I'm operating, though, my 6lb black panther wants to park herself in my lap. And on the keyer, and on the keyboard, and on the mic...
Yep, mine wants to walk across the keyboard while im trying to ty....io490h2376rq63q8hgu45hy249yjhwhs8=q
My current Vibroplex Brass Racer is actually my second one.
The first one? Dobryn the Cat decided that I wasn't paying enough attention to her, so she nudged it off the operating table.
No, I wasn't allowed to administer lethal injection or worse. Which is why my ex kept the cat when we parted ways.
Yes.
