It's just a little before 4 pm and the thermometer outside is showing 35 degrees Celsius under clear blue skies on this Canada Day! This after the warmest and driest June on record!
We now know what the Summer in BC will be like now ........
Hit over 35 degrees yesterday locally in the south 40 C shattering the all time record of hottest 1st of july in 400 years.
Hotter today, end of the day rain, hail thunderstorms, Saturday even hotter....
Damned am I sick of this stagnant polluted air, heat, and humidity. Last 4-5 weeks have been like "sweat city". Temps are supposed to finally break later this week along with some rain. That's another thing. It's been bone dry here for the past several weeks. Every day sunny, hot & humid but nary a shower. I haven't heard a single clap of thunder all summer which is most unusual. Usually during heat waves we are swarming with showers and thunderstorms. I hope this ends soon. I am tired of sweating and having to hide inside air conditioned rooms.
Guess no one wants to talk about the weather.
Uneventful ... and that's a good thing.
Well, my air conditioner and fans have sure been getting a workout these past several weeks. I keep the AC set to about 66 deg F. I also run a fan along with the AC because I like to have a nice breeze along with the cooler air. Tonight it's supposed to start cooling down and next week looks beautiful. Highs only in the upper 70's , nights in the upper 50's to low 60's. It will be a pleasure. Hopefully this is our first hint of seasonal change.
Can't wait for Spring!
