Re: $1500 for a mobile CB antenna?
Hello.
In some CB shootouts the power levels now Exceed 30,000 watts!
This is done with a 50 Kw transmitter mounted in a panel truck that pulls a generator!
All this to have bragging rights on CB!?
And remember, one can not ground this thing, the thing must be fully self contained to fall into the mobile class.
Re: $1500 for a mobile CB antenna?
Just a little TOO much power.

They love their Galaxies and Rangers. You betcha. I'm looking at an on-the-air signal from a Ranger at this moment courtesy of my "boat anchor/doorstop" TS-940S/SM-220/BS-8; the POS is ~250khz wide on transmit. It's a wonder that our local cable company hasn't received ingress complaints.
Re: $1500 for a mobile CB antenna?

Re: $1500 for a mobile CB antenna?
Back in the day, the guys on the Galaxys, North Stars, etc, were often out of alignment. Didn't take much for that on those radios. That or they got in there and turned the wrong slug. Guy wanted to sell me his NS for 350 $$$ but I was like, dude you're off frequency. And he was like, dude no I'm not. I was listening to him on 27.375 and he swore he was dead on channel 38.
I see those old Daks for sale from time to time. Have not seen one with a price on it under 400 $$$.
Now show me one for sale for 380 $$$ LOL!
Re: $1500 for a mobile CB antenna?
Did you see the power specs on this antenna? 40kw!
