Were there any network outages or DNS issues going on today ? Sometime early this afternoon I noticed that various sites were extremely slow and/or would just time out. Then for a while everything seemed to be down. I checked my equipment and everything checked normal. I did shut my router down for a while and after about an hour it seemed that I could connect again. Most sites seem normal but a few are still quite slow. Wonder if there is any problems going on ...
The archive site for Ubuntu upgrades, and the Ubuntu forums were incredibly slow today. Best download speeds I saw on 4 machines getting kernel updates was 20 Kbs. Pitiful ... so there was something going on ...Quote:

took me 2 hours to do the ubuntu 9.10 alpha6 to beta 1 upgrade.
normally takes 15 to 20 mins.
So then there were some issues yesterday. For a while I couldn't get anything. I checked my ONT and router and everything was showing connected and okay. Then even when it came back certain sights were still very slow.
