Berry College - Eagles
My wife and I followed these eagles last year from the time the eggs were laid, hatched, and it was once again an empty nest. It was one of the most interesting and fascinating things I have watched in a long, long time. Watching the parents raise the little ones, and following them up to the time they left the nest was amazing.
The female just laid the first egg either yesterday or today. It will be cool to see how many eggs there will be this year, how many will hatch, and how many chicks will survive to successfully leave the nest. It's a hoot to watch the chicks when they are older. It's amazing no one gets accidentally shoved out of the nest when they are older and playing baby eagle grab-ass.
The live cams, video archive, and details of the project are here: http://www.berry.edu/eaglecam/

Cool. It's like "The Truman Show" for birds.

At least those eagle are okay with being bald and aren't attempting an egregious comb-over, al la The Donald.

I'd vote for one of the eagles before I'd vote for any of the current (e/r) can-da-dirts.
But that's just me. A dirty, old, independent, ham.

We have an eagle cam that our department installed at work... It's kind of famous.
The parents are messing around to propagate again.

The chicks hatched a couple of days ago. One looks very strong and healthy. The other not so much. I hope it survives. The parents had three that hatched and survived last year. Nature is very cool.

They're about 1 hour from here.
