it seems like the forum is getting really really slow to load. it dont seem to have the snap it used to. (could be my end but everywhere else i go loads faster)
i notice in the who is online thing you have the damn "Baidu Spider" running amuck, and from my experience when them bastards would crawl my site the place slowed to a horrid crawl if not just quit working. banning Baidu got things back to normal

Baidu also from what I seen will not follow robots.txt ether. just another bad bod imo.

There's no evidence that they're causing a problem. Again, they're simply not mutli-threaded, they don't maintain a session, so it appears that there's far more of them than their actually is. Server load averages are very low, bandwidth is relatively low.

OK. But right after Tony mentioned his problem, the site slowed down to a crawl then wouldn't load at all for a couple of minutes while other sites were fine.
Just relaying an observation.
That was me diagnosing a potential problem; which I didn't find.
Seems the same as it always has to me.
No problems here on the other side of the pond...
When the web slows down, I just read slower. It all works out.
