This is on sale at Office depot for $450. Any negative comments about it anyone would like to make? What don't I know?
There's also an HP 15.6" screen with many of the same specs for the same price but I don't really want one that big.

I see nothing negative with that machine, Bill, and Toshiba'a have a solid reputation for being tough. Some may balk at the shared video RAM, but unless you're going to run 3D games on it, this won't matter.
The 64 bit OS simply supports the architecture of the 64 bit machines. Short answer ... 64 bit would be capable of "seeing" more than 3GB of RAM, among other things. Some software won't run properly on a 64 bit platform, so, for the casual user, the 32 bit OS is just fine, and presents fewer software related issues.
I would personally prefer 32 bit architecture for now, until all the programmers get on the 64 bit bandwagon.
The Toshiba sounds like a good buy at that price!
