I had some more pictures for the Island but, after the trial period, free membership of Fotki doesn't seem to allow downloads any more so I'd be grateful for recommendations for an alternative.

There won't be many pictures on it so I'm reluctant to pay Fotki's annual membership fees although I would pay a modest price, websites costing money to maintain and so on.

It's free unless you want to pay $25 (USD) a year.

certainly your ISP includes some web space with your access? this can be used to host photos and, of course, it's "free."

Imageshack.US (http://imageshack.us/) also free unless you want to pay $8/month.

Tinypic has been having problems lately so I don't recommend them.

Photobucket or TwitPic. Both great. Twitpic it coupled with your twitter account (If you have one) as well, which is nice.

ImageShack is nice because there are forum plugins to ease it's use in forums.

When you have a free Flickr account, you can upload 2 videos and 100MB worth of photos each calendar month.

Image shack can be a pita but I use 'em all the time.
If you don't pay it takes longer.

"Zooomr" seemed to be the easiest so I've put some pictures on there. I hope they are of some interest once I've stucjk them on the Island. Incidentally I tried Photobucket but it told me I couldn't log on, no idea why. The family (4 generations scattered around the world) all use Facebook but I'm not keen on using that.
My ISP charges money for a site, apparently it works well but for a handful of pictures it's not worth it.
