Well summer is gone and winter is on it's way. Things are starting to slow down in the shop. So this gives me time to start some projects.
9 months ago I sold my SB-200. Decided I wanted something different.
I picked up a big old ugly case and cleaned it up a bit. added some paint and modified the chassis.
Thing was some sort of receiver built in the 50's but not sure what name and model. For the past 20 years it was a power supply. I thought this would make a nice amplifier.

The plan is to build a 4 tube 10-80 meter amplifier. I am going to start off with 811A tubes to start with then later switch to 572B's.
Still hunting my junk boxes for old nastalgia parts. I want that old rugged look and trying to stay away from new stuff. Thought I had some sockets for these tubes somewhere but can not find them.
I do have a bunch of the other stuff for the tank circuit and input circuit, power supplt ect.

Happy Building guy's

I may have some 572 sockets. Need to find a photo reference of what I'm looking for, though.

Here is a picture of the completed chassis and cabinet.
It is a pull out chassis.

Added a lower RF Deck to give tubes plenty of clearance and good shielding.

Waiting on parts. Found nothing from the local ham fest. :(

Still plenty to do.

I'm pretty sure that I've got some snockets of the appropriate layout. How many do you need?

Going to need four of them. I found new ones at RF Parts but some good ole used ones are fine by me.

The Chinese ceramic sockets seem to be of good quality and are fairly cheap. There are 2-3 vendors at every hamfest down here that carry them. A Google search turns up pages of vendors for tube sockets.
