For forum browsing it is the bomb! No clicking to the next page. When you get to the bottom of the page it loads and you just continue to scroll. Fine Business!
Have yet to try it elsewhere.

One of my favorite Firefox addons is NoScript --- http://noscript.net/
It's probably for more advanced users, but it essential blocks JavaScript, Java, Flash, Shockwave, or SearchLight from loading without your expressed permission. And then for sites you trust, such as hamisland.net, you can white list it so that it doesn't block anything.
Makes browsing considerably faster and much more secure.

I also use AdBlock Plus, but I'm sure you all know about that one by now.

Yep, noscript is an excellent addon. It allows me to browse the local tv news sites without loading the video they think I want to watch ...

Web Developer (http://chrispederick.com/work/web-developer/) is another one I use. It's great for debugging sites, outlining tables, resetting your browser window size.. etc. If you do any sort of web development and don't have Web Developer installed, you're really missing out.
Another one I like is UserAgent Switcher -- not something I have to use very much, but if I need to fake a site into believing I'm running a different type of browser/operating, it works like a champ.
ReloadEvery is nice too. Lets you set a page to be refreshed every X seconds.

I use the video download helper, add block plus, personal menu, and override mozilla guidance.
