I think a lot has to do with the quality of your connection....
Some of those files are pretty big, and if you are on a mediocre connection,
then it may take a bit, for adobe to download, then open the pdf files ...

Okay, for some reason I have to "save link as" or else I get a page not found error.
When I try to open the .PDF file I downloaded I get an encoding error in Acrobat.
I've had this issue before with .PDF files.
Weird.

Here is another excellent place for manuals in both pdf, djvu, and image (gif, jpg) formats.

Or it's mirror
http://bama.edebris.com/manuals/
Bear in mind the bama ftp server can sometimes be quite slow and aty times may have it's full capacity of users. But, the selection of manuals is quite large so it's worth the wait.

Heathkit manuals are all gone now, some real arse bought the copyright on all Heath manuals and is busily sending notification to all who have them posted on the web to cease and desist from distribution of his property.

The new owner made a good investment. If not financially, definitely for nostalgia.
