They were present at WASHFest today. Again.

Sorry I didn't have a better chance to grab more photos of the culprits, but between running the club table, my own table, helping at the VEC session (6 for 6!) and taking pictures for the club newsletter, I was pretty busy.

Their club call, if it's not clear, is KC3SMA. Ringleader is Chris Grimm K3PQ, who you see in the 2nd photo.

...I really need to get a shirt made up with our "One Knob To Rule Them All" logo and a "since (year)" notation on it...

I have the original Adobe Illustrator files if you need them, Ron.

Something seems odd about the whole thing

Is this copyright infringement?

The copyright status is out of my realm of information, but I think that it would need to be shown the other party are attempting/actualizing monetary gain. Or theft of some tangible facet of the site, or obfuscation. Or impersonating someone actually cool, something silly like that. Has to be an injured party and a perpetrator.

▪︎▪︎▪︎ full disclosure - I know nothing of actual law, but it seems to me it should work like that. ▪︎▪︎▪︎

Perhaps proof of origination date would be sufficient. You listen to some over yonder and they would consider any association with here a net negative. "Why would you choose 'that' name for your club "? :icon_wink:

Chris is actually a good guy. He's a real asset to the Steel City club, and back when I was running the WASH VE Team, he helped us out more than a few times.

But that's no excuse for identity theft.
