Hi Brian,

Thanks for checking in. Unfortunately, CQ has temporarily suspended publication at this time. We are working very hard to secure the necessary funding to resume operations but until we can make those arrangements, everything is unfortunately on hold. PDF copies of our April-September issues may be downloaded from our website at www.cq-amateur-radio.com (links at the bottom of the home page), and I am attaching a copy of the October issue, which is at this point the most recent published issue. Our apologies for this inconvenience and we hope to be back up and running soon.

Vy 73 for very happy holidays and 2024,

CQ Magazine no more?
Well I have been calling this for a few years now --- looks like my prediction has become true - CQ Magazine might have gone out of business.Steve W4DTA

Many hams have noted not receiving paper copies of CQ magazine since earlier this year, and the last electronically published issue was October.

Quoting Rich Moseson, W2VU, editor of CQ Magazine: “Unfortunately, CQ has temporarily suspended publishing at this time. We are working very hard to secure the necessary funding to continue operations but until we can make those arrangements, everything is on hold.”

The CQ contests will continue to be held, uninterrupted, by the WWROF (as they have been for many years now).

I myself - the CQ Contesting Editor for the past several years - am launching a contesting website that will specialize in short turnaround news flashes and gossip from the contesting world.

I didn’t even know CQ was still publishing. But, it's been a hard road for print publications of all types over the past decade or so.

that is st least how long this has been going on... unsure what's actually happening there but they've consumed any good will that subscribers might have had for them.

When the RSGB prints the callsigns of new members in Radcom and it is full of Americans and Canadians. We will all know why.

I think you’re confusing CQ Magazine with QST Magazine. The latter if the official organ of the ARRL.

Organ. An excellent choice of words.

Heh heh

When CQ had previous difficulties. A number of subscribers joined the RSGB for the magazine. It was remarked that Radcom arrived quicker and every month, unlike CQ Magazine.

CQ's website [ https://cq-amateur-radio.com/ ] is down.

Their Faceplant [ https://www.facebook.com/CQMag/ ] page is still active, but hasn't seen any recent updates from them.

Yup. I don't think it's pining for the fjords, no matter how beautiful it's plumage is...

Dear friends,

It's my sad duty to report that Dick Ross, K2MGA, became a SK last weekend. He was 84 years old.

While CQ has had its ups and downs, Dick managed the machine for over 60 years, publishing contest results while many of us were still crawling around on the floor as toddlers.

I've known and worked for/with Dick for nearly 50 years. My prayers go out for DIck's wife, Cathy, and their family.

RIP K2MGA.

Eras are ending all around us.

RIP Mr. Ross, thank you for your love of our hobby all these years.

Who here will channel him to gain the knowledge lost with his passing?
I say this because I think about all the knowledge lost when someone passes especially when they have a lot of knowledge in a niche hobby.
