Haven't seen Janet here in a long time, 2021 with talk about vaccinations.
Anyway, Happiest Natal Anniversary! Is gin and tonic still on your list of consumables?

I like a simple G&T among today's exotic recipes so here's to you!

Happy B-Day, Janet.

(FWIW, Janet is the only Islander that I ever met in person.)

I too met ... I forgot if it was in 2006 or 2007. In GREENVILLE SC!

Been trying to get with Janet at SEAPAC, but no luck yet. One of us has something mess it up, but I still look forward to doing this.

About an hour ago, I received an email from N2RJ.

Ria says, sad to say, that Janet is a SK. Ria thought we knew.

No further information available.

OK. Further information available, again, courtesy of Ria N2RJ:

Follow-up email excerpt: "She passed in July, all of a sudden. She was a member of the Spokane DX Association.

I hadn't talked much with her since I was booted off the island, except one email I got from her out of the blue regarding my life changes.

I only noticed her death when I was re-reading the ARRL Board Minutes before approving. I was skeptical so I reached out to my friend Mel Ming, N7GCO who confirmed that she passed in July."

Edit: I noticed that link points to a June 2nd obit listing, which says Janet passed May 26th. Don't shoot the messenger.

I am very saddened to hear of this news and my most heartfelt love and condolences go out to her family.
My condolences also to the Island members who spoke with and knew Janet over the years.
She will be missed and over the last 2 years I have taken for granted that she was always a phone call or an email away.
Peace be with us all.

I'm very saddened to hear of Janet's passing. I will miss her biting criticism and blunt opinions. She always seemed to offer a new angle from which to view events, and was particularly well versed in the political arena. If you planned to challenge her, you had better do your homework!

I have marked her user title appropriately to reflect her date of passing. May she rest in peace.

The loss of Janet was a huge shock. Normally the ARRL honors silent keys at the start of every board meeting. When I was reviewing the minutes I saw Janet’s call in there, and I thought, this couldn’t be right. I asked one of her club members and he confirmed what I had feared. I have no details other than what I supplied to Ron. So yeah, life is short. Make the most of it. Especially if you still have family, friends and loved ones. You never know when your ticket will get punched.

Never met her in person. We did have a video chat once. It’s my loss. I meet lots of hams but rarely venture west to ham stuff. I do go there for work stuff (going to Anaheim next week for a renewable energy expo). Furthest west I’ve been for ham stuff is Texas. That said was glad to have her in my circle.
