Nah.
Now were you talking about the 2022 Pittsburgh Pirates...
I’m pretty sure that the Padres being in first place is the Fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse but am willing to concede that that might not happen until they win the World Series.
We’re saved. The Padres lost last night and are now in second place by half a game.

Tell me.. have the Padres yet achieved, let alone perfected, the Pirates ability to continually snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?

Indeed they have. This is the team which has played a grand total of nine World Series games since they entered the National League in 1969 and has lost eight of them.

In the past 5 seasons... How many times, with The Padres leading late in the game by 2 or more runs, has the bullpen coughed up the lead, and lost the game?
Are the owners of the Padres mire interested in a winning team, or one merely profitable... enough.
You think you know suffering as a Fan of the Friars? Please. You’re not even in the proverbial ballpark.
We may need to revisit the Apocalypse. By the skin of their teeth, the Padres have made it to the postseason as the #5 seed wildcard team.

You guys be good to Joe Musgrove. He's good people.
He deserved a lot better than he was going to get here... so please make sure he does.
And the same goes for Josh Bell.

Both players are well thought of here.
It just occurred to me that it’s at least possible that the 2022 World Series could end up being the San Diego Padres vs. the Seattle Mariners. Of course, it's highly improbable, something we should be thankful for because if it happened, the earth would undoubtedly implode.
The Padres beat the Mets 6-0 in a one-hitter by Joe Musgrove to take the Wildcard Series. We draw closer to the apocalypse.

Yeah, and the umps examined Musgrove's ear canal for a foreign substance. Ol' Buck thought Joe's ears looked a little "shiny". I think that pissed Musgrove off just a little... did you see him stare down the Met's dugout as he was leaving the field? :-D

I listened to it on the radio because I don’t have cable but I saw it later. That was pretty funny — and my opinion, totally appropriate.

i TOLD you Joe was good people!

And you was right. He was awesome that night, a real Hall of Fame performance.
Padres lost the first game of the division series to their Hated Rival™, the Dodgers. Given that LA has pretty much had their number all season (they beat them 23 games out of 28 played), this is not surprising.
We draw one step closer to the Apocalypse. The Padres defeated the Dodgers three games out of four in the NLDS.

And, it's being hailed as one of the biggest post-season upsets in the history of MLB.

It was a yuge upset. The Dodgers won 111 games and defeated the Padres 14 times out of the 19 times they played them during the regular season. Nobody (including Padres fans) would have been surprised if they’d swept them in three but here we are.
Next step: the Phillies at Petco tomorrow evening.

The Boss And I are not rooting for the Friars.
But we are rooting for the ex-Pirates on the roster!
i never got to wear my Josh Bell jersey to a game, thanks to COVID. Good people.
Well, we’ve been saved from the Apocalypse for now. I have mixed feelings about this.
I don’t know what’s worse. The damn Filthies, or the cursed Asstrohs.
And you’d’ve thought the meshuganah Yankees would have realized that when it comes to the playoffs, Gerrit Cole becomes a soul sucking dybbuk, who crushes his team’s hopes and dreams in the process.

I would normally root for any team that plays the against the Astros but it would feel wrong to back the team that knocked the Padres out of the postseason so I’ll probably not pay much attention to the World Series this year

Welpers. The Astros won and the powerball drawing is currently up to $1,900,000,000.

Yeah, I guess I’m ok with that. Dusty Baker is a good manager and deserves at least one championship in his career.
I bought a lottery ticket yesterday, something I only do when the jackpot is over $1 billion. Alas, I still had to get up and get ready for work this morning.
