Ella don’t follow no stinkin’ trends, unless maybe it has something to do with fishing. I aways thought that I could get a bit obsessive about fishing but compared to her I’m mere dilettante. Just recently she caught a California halibut so large it made the local fishing news—39" and 21 pounds. It took us ten minutes to boat the thing because our net wasn’t big enough and since we usually fish from our 11.5' rigid inflatable boat (RIB), taking a gaff along seems like a very bad idea.

CA halibut don’t get as big as those yuge (300+ lb) barn door Pacific halibut but they sure do make for some good eating. I’m making up halibut sushi for dinner tonight.

I’m 68 and Ella is 13 years younger so, TBH, I occasionally do require, uh, pharmaceutical help. But not as often as I thought I might because I think she’s cute as hell and, well, she’s good at pretty much everything. Especially catching fish. This was taken about two hours ago:
