View Full Version : 136 Khz
I have an interest in LF, namely 136kHz, but am finding now so many variations in modulation that, setting up a beacon or receiving station, reports or reception seem fruitless if they don't coincide with other stations. Anyone else had a go at LF or even MF?

I dabbled, listening only. Then I moved to the city.
Medium wave broadcast overloads the front end.
Kinda sucks. Online, groups.io and maybe facebook may have groups.
When I goofed with early UHF, I called locals on the "telly", and we played.
Homebrew Superregenration RX with TV parts, and tweaked surplus transmitter on AM/CW.
Wild, wild stuff. For 1972.

I too dabbled in LW with a Rycom selective volt meter. Very sensitive. I just wish it went into the AM BCB range. It would make an excellent receiver for that.
The only LW I captured from across the Atlantic was BBC4, Germany and Saudi Arabia on my former Kenwood TS-570D. That was a hell of a radio.
