Happy birthday time, time flies and all that, have a good one!!!
Happy birthday!
Am restoring a Dewald 610LW for a couple of friends. Be nice to see George pop in on that thread with one of his projects, preferably of the same model.

Even though we never met face to face, George was like a brother to me. Our shared interests in German Shepherds and automotive work, in addition to amateur radio, provided lots for us to discuss during much correspondence.
George was one of a kind, an absolute perfectionist when restoring anything, and a damn good soul. He always mused that I threw myself on my own hand grenade when I got myself banned at QRZ over those toilet ticks editing his signature. He was angry with me for months!
I'll surely miss George. A lot.
RIP, my friend.

Oh No... I am surprised and deeply saddened to hear this bad news. I first met George on 75 meter AM back when his call was N2GBY. We spent a lot of time on the radio and on the phone talking about restoring and modifying old radios, looking over schematics, sharing ideas , etc. For quite a long time Me, George and another guy named Phil (KB2MAM) used to hang out and ragchew on 75 m AM almost every night till the wee hours. Sadly Phil passed away many years ago. There was a short stretch where I was going through some tough moments and George was there for me, offering me support, encouragment and helping me to get along. He was a really great person, kind hearted, great sense of humour and a great restorer of things. May he RIP. He will be deeply missed.
