Ya beat me to it! That episode must have been inspired by NYC Mayor John V. Lindsay at war with the unions, this is the Sanitation Department strike he caused. The icing on the cake was a blizzard that brought the city to a standstill, nothing above ground could move because the Sanit also runs snow removal, piles of garbage covered with snow. I missed the last train out so I spent the night with Bob Fass at WBAI, his show Radio Unnameable was devoted to mocking Lindsay. Two songs come to mind, It Was A Very Good Year and December 1963 (Oh What A Night).
