The computer ate my homework.

Has this ever happened to you on (any) this message board?

I thought I wrote a message, posted it and, next time I went to check on it, it wasn't there.

If, I didn't make it all the way to posting, there should(?) be a saved "Draft", eh?

Maybe I inadvertently wiped it all out with the "escape" key?

Guess I have to go back to composing messages in Microsoft Word and then, copy and post them to where I want it.

(How does that auto-save work and, how can I make it work for me?)

I don't know but in my experience it doesn't always work. Sometimes I've been able to return to the page after "something" happened. Accidentally navigated away from page etc. Twice I can recall when Ctrl+something was hit accidentally and it was lost forever.

I don't do any fancy stuff, I compose my posts in the box at the bottom of the page. If I have to look something up, find an appropriate image or whatever, I open a separate tab. That way I don't navigate away and nothing is lost.

You brought up an interesting point. I have no idea how that auto save thingamajig works either.
