For the last few years, MLB has had a “Players Weekend” where, amongst other things, the player’s jerseys will reflect a nickname of their own choosing.

Joey Votto of the Reds will be doing an homage to one of the best classic skits of all time, one dating back to the days of vaudeville.

Keeping in mind the position he plays... first base... yes, for that weekend, he will be known as Who.

Which means every time he takes the field, or is walked or hits a single... need I say it?

It figures. Never happened. Votto was injured and never played all weekend. So Who was never in any of the games. Nurtz.

Not MLB related except that this thread reminds me of the old stuff.

Yup. Totally off topic. And still funny!

Rodney made a good living off two things he got more mileage out of than any other comedian ever could have, his trademark "I can't get no respect" that grammatically makes no sense and tugging at his tie. Eh, you may notice he WAY over does it and does it poorly in that Carson interview, but the jokes never lose their polish. Off topic? Off WHAT topic?
