Does it have a USB port? :-D

One of our local geniuses will be along shortly to identify that valve, 'cause I sure can't!

At first glance it looks like the ubiquitous UV201A triode, but it's missing the evacuation tit on top and it has a bulb within a bulb. Once upon a time I had a collection of antique tubes for servicing antique radios, I thought I knew most of them, but this is a strange one.

I helped restore a WW2 vintage European radio that had tubes shaped like that, it was German I think. I was a teenager the last time I saw bulb shaped. If it is American, then it is more antique than Eddie.

What does a Tung Sol ts227 go in? Audio or rf application?

Not having any luck with a search engine finding that particular tube.

It's a type 27. Many manufacturers made them under license from possibly Westinghouse. I think from what I've read this would be used as an audio preamp. Was introduced in the 1920s.

I rebuilt a Hammarlund Super Pro, it used these old fashioned form factor tubes...

Was a great experience. the "27" is listed as an audio amp, also used as an RF detector

Wonder if you could make a regenerative one tube receiver with that, might be amusing
