Folder Gone

Had a folder in my storage drive disappear within the last 12 to 18 hours.
How do I find it?

Toshiba 2 TB outboard storage drive. Win 10. What other info is needed?

did you try searching the drive for a file that you know was in that folder? the built-in search should do the trick. (yeah, this sounds too easy but sometimes i inadvertently drop something i was dragging into unexpected places) ...

That used to work. Apparently, WinX wants you to use Cortana and I keep her deaf and mute here. I type in the search bar and things get stupid.
