Latest; still "clinging" to life. Has a family supported DNR directive.

He's hanging in there, but not looking good. Some reports say no brain activity.

There were conflicting reports through last night, but word is he was given Last Rites last evening, taken off life support, and passed just before 0400 Z. Damn.

RIP

Very sad.

I remember a group of friends and their high school band covering "Don't Do Me Like That" as if it were only yesterday; this shortly after the song came out.

RIP. :icon_sad:

Yeah, this sucks. I really did like his music, and he was an asset to our culture.

Sad to see the news. He had great talent and stage presence. We also lost the original game show MC this week, Monty Hall.

Sunday night, I was watching a documentary about George Harrison on Netflix with my sister, and her bf. When the film covered the Traveling Wilburys era, we discussed the members who have left us Her bf said, "Tom Petty died too, didn't he?". Weird.

I think Tom Petty was real popular. Sales increase of 6216% is just massive! I already got most of his albums so my $$$ aren't included in that. Not bad for a good ole Florida boy done good

100 yrs from now they'll still be playing his tunes.
He had life dialed in.

I got into him with that first album, saw him twice over the years.
Yea, and even had Stevie Nicks "dialed in", but it didn't last.

Still listen. Not rabidly, but he's good enough to ski to even.
And for me, that's something special.

One of his best for skiing in the moguls:
