Just saw the birthday reminder for Jeff ('GPL) pop up in the Site Notifications section. This so soon after the new server and forum is up and running.
A birthday, of sorts. And the mourning of a friend and fellow ham's passing.
Time to add another call to the memorial wall. Albi, Russ, Mack, Jeff and a few others I've probably missed...I can imagine the arguments, discussions ad nauseum which are now taking place on a different sort of plane.
HBD/RIP. We've got the watch from here on out.

Makes me feel older every time these things happen.
R.I.P.
That is a part of life that we all must face, for all of our friends and family... and eventually ourselves... makes it no less sad.
Think of the positive, never forget, and don't dwell on the other stuff.
RIP OM.

I believe Jeff would be pleased with our efforts to continue with his forums. It was a pleasure working with Jeff, and I was always humbled by the level of trust he had in me. We became good friends, and now that the distraction of getting the forums moved is over, I find myself with an empty spot in my heart. He was fun to chat with on the phone, strongly opinionated until he wasn't, blunt, but not at all unkind. I regret that I never had the opportunity to meet him in person.
May you find peace, my friend!
HBD and RIP, Jeff, wherever you may be. Sorry you never made it to San Diego for our sailing session. I know you were looking forward to it—and so was I.
