If this is just a cargo vessel (ship goods up to the ISS, collect waste from the ISS and burn up in reentry) why all the solar panels which suggests to me a more long term operation.

I don't know if those things that look like solar panels really are solar panels. They may be radiators for losing heat gain from the sun.

Oh, OK. I'll look at some other pictures. I figured why waste money on solar panels for short time use when a couple of ol' car batteries would cut it.

Yeah, it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. They do look a lot like solar panels but near the end of the video you can get a short look where it appears they may be fins of some sort. To quote La Rata, though, I could be full of shit.
Hard to say what the panels are but they are certainly outside the swathes of Kapton material wrapped around the craft.

You can buy Kapton for several uses, one is as a heatproof electrical insulator, another as tape to seal a flue. The maximum temperature is about 400 degreesC. That's quite hot.
I enquired at an open day in Houston with prototype satellites on display and that's all that's used. It's a polyimide film offered originally by Dupont.

Well I read up on the Japanese Cargo Vehicle. It does have solar cell panels to power one rechargeable battery. There are also two nonrechargeable batteries. I guess these cargo vessels can be prepositioned and left in space for a while. There is a lot of electronics; autopilot, radio, laser radar, etc.. It is a shame to turn all that expensive equipment into a refuse container full of astronaut poop and food wrappers.

Is brown a good color for a car? Shouldn't it be more of a mauve bird shit?

This is all faked by NASA using holograms. Everyone knows the earth is flat and there is no such thing as space.
