Tomorrow, the moon will be full and closer to the Earth than it has been since 1948.

After a long dry spell it may be hard to view here. Clouded up this morning and barely rained enough to wet the street. I suspect it settled the dust just a skosh but we really need more due to the fires.
I got out last night trying to get a few shots of the fire. I stayed out of the way of police and fire services as well as residents in the area. Right now this fire is in a state park and has not reached any homes. They say it was definitely arson and are looking for a car they believe the occupants there of are responsible for every fire from Alabama to North Carolina.

But who knows what will happen around here. We've been fortunate that the winds have been calm. I'd love to get a shot of the moon rising over a scenic horizon.
Kinda gives new meaning to burning it all down, huh?

It's just trying to pick up speed, so it can get as far away as possible from the planet for now.
As usual, cloud obscurity

Cloudy all day. Cold. Humidity up due to morning rain. Temps back up in the 70s tomorrow.

It was spectacularly bright here the other night. Today we were plunged into one hell of a chilly rainstorm. All morning while I was traveling around outside it was pouring like crazy and the wind was really whipping things up. I think it was a nor'easter. As soon at I got home the rain stopped. But my shoes, jacket, etc. were soaked. Had to wade through about 8 inches of cold water because a storm drain was stopped up.

It was really bright here in the desert, however it didn't look that much bigger to these old eyes. Maybe it is just a geographic sorta thing.
Of course, I may be full of shit, too.
