As related by Virginia journalist Guy Friddell (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Guy_Friddell&action=edit&redlink=1) in his book What Is It About Virginia?, at one point, the Pittsylania County Board of Supervisors changed the name of Tightsqueeze to "Fairview." Ever been there? Just outside of Lancaster. Nice little town, bit of a tourist trap these days.

If memory serves, a good bit of the Harrison Ford movie Witness was filmed in and around the town.

Oh, and don't forget about nearby towns like Gap, Mount Joy, Fertility, Bareville, Paradise, and my personal favorite, Bird-In-Hand.

That's a family name too. Just saying. Don't really have anything more to add.
Glad that you just read this?

Penistone, South Yorkshire, England.

According to Wikipedia, "The area is known for its rugged breed of sheep, the Whitefaced Woodland."

The beaches along the Keys here on the Eastern Coast. Not Myrtle Beach though. Heavilier would be the word for Myrtle.

As you might expect, California has a ton of oddly-named places. Plaster City, Rough and Ready, Likely, Happy Camp, Forks of Salmon, Weedpatch, Hooker, Fort Dick, Woody...
