I got up this morning and found a note on the kitchen table:

As soon as you went to bed last night, my computer went black as though I had put it to sleep. I was trying to get the WiFi to come back on and in between tries the screen went black. I checked the power cord and and plug [it's a laptop, BTW]. If there is something you can do in the morning, please do.

When I looked at it this morning, the power on LED was not lit. So, I pushed the on button and, sure enough...

After High School was over for the day I worked at a T.V. repair shop. I can't begin to tell you the number of times I got a house call and all I had to do was plug the set back in to the wall. The home maker had moved the T.V. to vacuum....

I put that antenna up because Tesla said there was free electricity in the ether, so why do I have to plug the TV in?

I certainly hope you told her you had to replace a metric shit ton of parts, and rewrite some code to make it all work; and that it took all day. That's what I'd do, but that's just me......

This was back in the early 70's and most TV's were still tube powered. What we would do was to adjust the TV picture (B&W tracking, touch up the convergence, focus....) But one homemaker vacuum the inside of the TV because of the dust, did not turn out well.

Had a problem earlier today with some sites coming up, others no. Support tech from my ISP had me run ipconfig /flushdns from a dos screen (or whatever they call it now) in Windows 10. Appreciated his going the extra mile for me.

Yea, the Internet was wacked today for a while.

Switching for a bit to OpenDNS fixed it.

Back to normal.

Sorry everyone... I tripped over a power cable in the DC, that fed 4 backbone routers.

I use OpenDNS by default and never even noticed any problem.
