I think the teacher needs to go back to school and that we need to include this in the curriculum.
You see stories on this everyday, every Summer season. Every year I read the FB commenters calling for the parents head on a platter. Literally. Not because the parent "forgot" but because it has to be an intentional act in every case.
Here's an idea and just bear with me on this for just a moment. Educate kids in school at an early age not to leave people behind in cars, babies, pets etc. Why? Seems like it's necessary. Car manufacturers are already making cars, or will soon, that tell the driver there is someone in the backseat. AFTER ALL THIS IS DONE, then you may start calling for the heads of parents who do this as obviously they were trying to commit a murder.
Sound good? I'm not trying to be funny. Not at all. Right now, some small local shops are using their store cams to view their parking lots to see if kids are being left behind. The more reputable ones are refusing sales to people who leave their kids in the car. Some? ONE. One local shop is doing this for sure and is even offering free kid sized bottled water just because it actually happened in front of their shop once last year.
(“Bear with me,” the standard expression, is a request for forbearance or patience. “Bare with me” would be an invitation to undress. The phrasal verb is bear with, not bare with. Bear with me means have patience with me, or be tolerant with me.)

Sad to read about. Obviously, a whole new meaning to the phrase "No child left behind" for that teacher.

I have a heck of a lot more confidence in the limitlessness of stupidity vs. malice, in most cases.

Indeed. We do however live in the modern times of the Old Testament. An eye for an eye and thus we have the blind leading the blind.

Thank you. It's nice to know someone has my back. However, I would be a little less nervous if you would just drop the knife.

My father was a Navy Chief with a PhD in creative cursing. He could sour the air for 20 straight minutes, without ever repeating himself. And still, it would not be enough to describe this derelict dickweed. I think parents who pull this stupid trick must qualify for a special place in Hell, and should receive a preview of it for many years before they die.
Seriously, develop a system to remind you that the baby is in the car. Hang a baby booty from the rear view mirror when Junior is in the back seat.
Thanks for the public service message. I will be sure to remind my daughter whose boyfriend has a relatively new baby.

Last summer, I saw a bit on the news, where a female teenager had developed just that. A pressure sensitive switch in the babies car seat hooked up to a short range transmitter, and a small receiving device that goes on your key chain. If a person gets more than several steps from the vehicle, and the baby is still in the car seat, the device on the key chain emits an loud audio signal. I was very impressed with the kid. Hell of a deal. The last I heard of the project, she was looking for investors in order to mass produce the system. I think go fund me or one of those places would be a great place to start. I have looked around for it, but haven't found it yet. I'm also pretty sure that by now, the Chinese have hacked it, and are selling the or a similar device.
